Skateboard Deck
Rico Worl
This unique skateboard deck, designed by Tlingit and Athabascan artist Lanáat’—Rico Worl, showcases modern reimagining’s of traditional Tlingit and Haida culture and designs. Perfectly tailored for the everyday use of skaters, these decks fuse traditional art with contemporary functionality.
Lanáat’—Rico Worl began his journey by developing the arts department at Sealaska Heritage Institute, where he created programs to empower Indigenous artists by building essential skills and providing resource access. Now, through his brand, Trickster Company, he continues this mission, making traditional art more accessible in modern forms. His work celebrates Indigenous resilience, promotes cross-cultural appreciation, challenges the exploitation of Indigenous art in tourism, and represents contemporary Indigenous identity. Beyond Trickster Company, Worl’s creations span product and digital design, jewelry, printmaking, public art and sculpture, all in tribute to his ancestors’ legacy.

This deck is more than just a piece of skate gear—it’s an artistic reflection of the values of balance, support and unity.
