These attractive sterling silver earrings feature Gitga’at artist Art Sterritt's Salmon design. The use of laser engraving creates nice crisp lines which are then enhanced by the juxtaposition of polished light areas and oxidized dark areas.

The Salmon is an important and respected cultural and economic resource of the Northwest Coast. It is a symbol of wealth, rebirth, reciprocity and abundance.

Arthur W. Sterritt was born in 1948 in Hazelton BC, as a proud Gitga’at First Nation. Sterritt is a well-known sculptor and goldsmith. His work can be found in museums and private collections throughout North America, including his collaboration on The Museum of Anthropology’s world-famous ‘Ksan doors. The doors demonstrate expert Northwest Coast woodworking skills and were carved by Sterrit, alongside fellow ‘Ksan master carvers Walter Harris, Earl Muldoe and Vernon Stephens.
