This hand-carved copper cuff-style bracelet features a hummingbird crest carved in sterling silver findings. The hummingbird is complete with an unfurling wing on its right, and a carved flower on its left. 

Each animal has a deep meaning and representation in Northwest Coast art. Hummingbird is a symbol of love, beauty, joy and healing. He is a messenger of good news. Hummingbirds are often depicted alongside flowers.

John Lancaster is from the Kwakwaka'wakw Nation and was born in Alert Bay, British Columbia, Canada. He is a traditional carver and has been carving since 1986. John comes from a well-known family of silver and gold carvers. His main mentor was Alfred Seaweed.
