This hand-carved copper cuff-style bracelet features an eagle crest carved into sterling silver findings. The eagle design is complete with classic First Nations formline carvings on either side of the crest.
Each animal has a deep meaning and representation in Northwest Coast art. Eagle is a symbol of great strength, leadership, power, prestige, and vision.
John Lancaster is from the Kwakwaka'wakw Nation and was born in Alert Bay, British Columbia, Canada. He is a traditional carver and has been carving since 1986. John comes from a well-known family of silver and gold carvers. His main mentor was Alfred Seaweed.
