Crystal Chapman is from the Skawahlook First Nation of the Sto:lo people and her traditional name is Ta’ta’. She weaves cedar using traditional techniques, which has allowed her to become more in tune with her spirituality and culture. Crystal’s work was showcased during the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, B.C. when cedar hats that she created were worn by the Semoya dance group.

Crystal is focused on keeping the traditions of cedar weaving alive within the Sto:lo nation. She works with local non-profit organizations who hold workshops for children of all ages in order to share the importance of cedar, as well as its significance to the Sto:lo people.
