Morgan Asoyuf, born in Prince Rupert, BC, is a Ts'msyen Eagle Clan member with deep roots in the Ksyeen River region. Her artistic journey began with a diploma in fashion design, later expanding to Ts’msyen painting, wood sculpture and jewelry design. Morgan's diverse studies include bronze casting, metal art and gem setting, contributing to her distinctive approach to art. Currently, she teaches art and goldsmithing at Vancouver Community College and Kilala Lelum Native Health Centre in Vancouver. Her work honors Ts'msyen culture, focusing on themes of matriarchy and tradition.
Eagle
Featuring grey tones, this tumbler showcases an Eagle designed by Naad Kaa,wang—Roger Smith.
Roger Smith, also known by his given name Naad Kaa,wang, meaning “walking away from trouble into the sunset,” is an Eagle clan member, Tsaalth Laanaas from Haida Gwaii. A skilled designer and printmaker, Roger is currently studying at the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art, focusing on fine art. While he primarily works with canvas and paper, he has expanded his craft to include wood carving, creating portrait masks, spoons, paddles and bowls. His designs are widely distributed in gift stores, galleries and tourism destinations across Canada.
