Born in Seattle, Washington, Corey Moraes belongs to the Lax Kwa’Laams Band of the Tsimshian Nation. An entirely self-taught artist, Corey began studying Northwest Coast art in 1997. Since then, he has developed his style through extensive research in books, galleries and museums, and currently creates a wide range of artwork, including jewelry, prints, drums, masks and wood sculptures. Corey’s work can be found in many publications, museums, galleries and private collections across the world.
