The lid of this box depicts the first people emerging from a clamshell. Itis a reproduction of an argillite box carved by the renowned Haida artist John Robson (stepfather to Charles Edenshaw) and held at the Canadian Museum of History.

The museum-quality reproduction is made from a crushed marble/resin composite with the same heft and finish as the original artwork. The composite material uses at least 90-percent crushed natural marble mixed with resin and colour pigment and moulded from casts of the original box. The marble is reclaimed black marble from Texada Island, BC.
