About the Artist:

Kelly Robinson is an award winning Nuxalk and Nuu-chah-nulth artist, born in Nanaimo, BC. His artistic journey began in 1997 under the mentorship of Nuxalk artist Alvin Mack. Robinson then refined his skills in the Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts program at Vancouver’s Native Education College and later at the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art. His work is celebrated for its innovative approach, blending traditional Nuxalk design with contemporary techniques, such as reversing positive and negative space to create striking compositions.
