Designed by Musqueam artist, Darryl Blyth, this orange t-shirt is a visual reminder that all children have rights, deserve to be loved, and that Every Child Matters. Each ring in the 2022 design represents a different animal and meaning. The hand around the perimeter creates a sun motif to represent growth, while the following ring is made up of wolves to represent the community. The second-to-last ring visualizes the bear motif, to represent strength and wisdom. Lastly, the centre of the design is a loon, to represent peace and tranquillity.

We also offer Youth Every Child Matters T-Shirts here.

The annual Orange Shirt Day takes place on September 30th and has opened the door to global conversations and opportunities for meaningful discussions about the effects and legacy of Residential Schools. You can show solidarity and raise awareness all year long with orange shirts that honour the children who did not make it home from Canada’s Indian Residential Schools.

All net profits from the MOA Shop sales of this t-shirt will be donated to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) and Orange Shirt Society on behalf of the Museum of Anthropology and UBC.
