Beaded by Interior Salish artist Angela La Londe, this handmade pin with a unique heart detail represents necessary values of love, healing and solidarity for Orange Shirt Day's year-round commitments to reconciliation. 

Orange Shirt Day is observed annually on September 30th to commemorate the Indigenous children who were taken from their families and forced into residential schools. It is a day for listening, learning and witnessing the enduring impacts of colonization and forced assimilation.

Angela La Londe of Angie’s N8ive Beading, is an Indigenous artist from the Okanagan Nation. Born and raised on the Okanagan Indian Band reservation, La Londe creates handmade beaded earrings and pins using traditional beading methods. She believes it is important to continue the traditions and culture through her art. She also loves to innovate and create new styles.
