This beautiful mounted carving featuring Eagle has the distinction of being carved by two Coast Salish artists. It was begun by the famed Frankie White Eagle and then completed by Tom Williams, upon White Eagle's passing. Eagles are a symbol of great strength, leadership, power, prestige and vision. When used at ceremonial occasions, eagle down is a symbol of peace and friendship and an eagle feather provides good luck to both giver and receiver.

Tom Williams is a wood carver from the Squamish Nation. He began carving at the age of 12 and is largely a self-taught artist. Tom’s carving style reflects influences from his uncle, Jim Paull, and father-in-law, Master Carver Chief Floyd Joseph who offered Tom direction and inspiration in his carving career.

Tom carves plaques, paddles, rattles and masks in the Coast Salish tradition. He works with both red and yellow cedar and is well known for his attention to detail and deep carving style. Tom began teaching his son, Lincoln Williams, at an early age and has inspired him to also become a carver.
